He´s got the perfect excuse
He is the only one that's allowed
When Christmas was all merry
Who needs stress in January
His task is all clear
Spread Christmas joy far and near
Santa on his Christmas sleigh
Just gives it all for Christmas Day
There's no one who is more in charge
To find his way when winter is dark
There is no wish that would be dismissed

Fir trees looking sad
With their branches hanging down
Streets seem dark and empty
Although there are Christmas lights around
No one even bothers
About the sense of Christmas Eve
As long as there are presents
Everyone wants to receive
But this year even Santa
Can't stand it anymore
Why would he deliver
If he does not know what for
"Screw it! I'm fed up!", he says
"Today I'm sleeping in!
Don't tell me ´bout your wish list 'cause
Today I will begin
To make myself a selfish Christmas
In that house of mine
Don't wait for me to cheer you up 'cause
I officially resign!"
People walking by each other
In quiet selfishness
Everybody's tired
From all the work and all the stress
No one even bothers
About anybody else
Everybody´s busy
Looking after themselves
But this year even Santa
Would not join us anymore
He is so upset
That he can no longer ignore
What do we need the snow for
If Santa wouldn't use his sleigh
If he's not up for Christmas
Who else would make our day?
If everything we've earned
Still is not enough
It seems like Santa quits
Because we are running out of love...
